A Night on the Red Carpet

Posted on March 1, 2015

The Oscars for “Birdman”, The Theory of Everything”, and “Still Alice” may be over but what about “Be Happy it’s Adar, the Purim Story” or “My Life with Abraham, the first henpecked Jewish husband” or “The Longest Day, Yom Kippur in the synagogue?”

Yes, we are having our own night on the red carpet at Temple Beth David on Wednesday night, March 4. Come at 6:30 p.m. and stroll down our red carpet, be interviewed by a reporter, and get your picture taken by the paparazzi. Come dressed as fancy as you wish! This will be an elegant affair. Starting at 7:00 p.m., awards will be given out as you hear the story of Esther like none other before. Celebrities such as Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil, the Muppets, Men in Black, Joan Rivers, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, and Blues Brothers will be here. The fashion police will give out prizes for hair and outfits.

Our thanks go out to Sharon Matalon our creative writer and director. Alejandro González, move aside! There is no one like Sharon. She brings together our actors, actresses, and musicians for the best Purim shpiel you’ll ever attend at a synagogue. Immediately following our “Night on the Red Carpet Purim shpiel and celebration” will be a champagne reception. Wow! What a night!
The fun of Purim gets going even earlier than March 4. We have a Tot Shabbat on the Saturday before on Feb. 28 at 10:30 a.m. This interactive holiday experience for toddlers will feature a puppet show on the story of Esther.

On Sunday, March 1, our one and only Purim Carnival begins at 11:30 a.m. There will be booths, rides, and fun for our youth. Come eat, drink and be merry. It’s Purim!
