The warm aroma of baking challah, the savory smell of matzo ball soup, latkes frying on Hanukkah, and the sweet whiff of hamentashen fill the kitchen with memories. Our holidays and sacred occasions are observed with foods that represent history, our grandparents, holidays, and love. At Beth David, we offer cooking opportunities to learn more about our holidays and make our holidays more joyous. Sometimes, we welcome our children into the kitchen and other times we gather our adults for fun and hands on learning and eating. If food is the way to the heart, then we are at the heart of our synagogue.
